I was practicing a different way to paint- wanted to appeal the "raw" feeling- and this is the result. I'm don't think I fully achieved the technique yet, so I would really appreciate critiques about the painting style..:)

it used to be much bigger than this, but I decided to cut it into half XD LOL struggled with the background though /sigh

and it is one of my fantasies: troll  bloodelf
[LOVE THE PAIRING :woohoo:]

enough with my blahs,
hope you enjoy.

First critique so forgive if I disappoint:

This made me feel emotional right away. I'm rooting for them and I'm afraid for them. I want to know if they will live or die. Most pictures can't drop me into a story the way written words can. I feel like I can't just look, admire and walk away as I normally would. I'm in this scene now. You dropped me in their moment, in their world. And I'm helplessly drawn in.

I'm not a painter. But I figure that if a painting makes you ask myriad questions about the scene, causes you to hear sounds of battle, the roar of flame and the beating of the protector's heart in that female's ear just below the sound of her own pained, shallow gasps... Well, I figure the artist got across some of what they were going for.

I could go on for hours and flood your page with adoration over this. This painting has truly made my day. It's a subject that I love (male trolls) and it's moved me terribly.

As for the constructive criticism part, I also wish the hand was shown. The fact that it's missing gives me the feeling that I am seeing a chopped off painting. If just the hand were showing, I'm certain it would look complete! With such an amazing work, you might consider going for it... and then selling lots and lots of prints.

One last thing I gotta add. I can feel the cracks in those tusks.
