Forever and Ever After by AmyWinterbreeze Forever and Ever After by AmyWinterbreeze
"Are you a vampire?"
"I live off blood... Yes."
"Are you... dead?"
"No. Can't you tell?"
"But... Are you old?"
"I'm twelve. But I've been twelve for a long time."

The best and also realistic vampire movie I have ever watched. A bit slow-paced, but overall it was beautiful

they are Eli (left) and Oskar (right) from the Swedish movie Let The Right One In.

I haven't watched the American remake yet, but I think I should give a try once the DVD comes out. :dummy:

Still trying to learn how to paint...

Done in Photoshop CS (first time working with PSC! yay), countless hours.

i loved this movie AND the american remake very much. it brought a cold, creepy horror feel but the love theme overrid it and made it just beautiful; beautiful in all its gory, bloody wonderfulness

They actually look like Teresa (when she had black hair before becoming a Claymore) and Clare! It is such a beautiful art. I must see that film!

I've watched the Swedish one and I don't want to see the American version of it cause I fear they'll mess it up like they always do >.<' but I love the drawing you did here. Very pretty.

I don't like "Let Me In" in general, really. I thought it was an unnecessary remake of an already great movie, and one that had only been out for two years at that. And so it falls pretty naturally that I don't like either Abby or Owen, and I especially dislike Abby.

hmmm i love chloe moretz as an actor. She's very good. I've never seen LTROI,so i can't judge. What was bad about the "unnecessary remake?"

There's nothing wrong with Chloe Moretz as an actor, it's the character she plays.

Well, first of all, the fact that it even exists is bad. There was absolutely no reason for a remake. LTROI was a flawless, brand new movie. The only reasons I can see for creating LMI are:
1. To Americanize it (American setting, American names, etc...) and avoid having to use subtitles.
2. To get some of the money and fame that LTROI achieved worldwide.
Both these reasons are ridiculous and the producer of LTROI himself said that he felt insulted by the remake. It pisses me off that America tries to steal the credit of a great movie that my country made.

Now for the movie itself, I dislike it because I think it totally missed the point of the original film. While LTROI did not focus very much on the vampire aspect of the movie but rather on the bond between Oskar and Eli, LMI focuses more on the horror factor. And this clearly shows through things such as the increased amount of gore and how they portrayed Abby. For example, they gave Abby that ridiculous twisted face that looks like something out of the Exorcist whenever she drinks blood. And it bothered me that while in LTROI Eli never appeared threatening towards Oskar, Abby on the other hand seemed much more threatening towards Owen. This made it unrealistic for the two of them to bond the way they were supposed to. Speaking of Owen, his character also missed target, although not as much as Abby. I thought they made him too innocent and didn't add enough of the dark, psychotic side that Oskar had. And also, like I already mentioned, the bond between the two of them just doesn't work in my eyes. With Eli and Oskar, I really felt like I was watching two kids talking to each other in the way that kids do, and with a beautiful chemistry at that. With Abby and Owen however, I saw two actors reading scripts written by adults. And finally, I hate how the producer of LMI openly claims that he based the movie on the book when it's so obviously based on nothing other than LTROI. And not just based, but rather scene by scene copied.

But believe it or not, there are a few things I did like about LMI. For example, the idea of replacing Lacke with a detective wasn't all that bad, and I really enjoyed how the bullies were more fleshed out than in LTROI. But sadly, that just isn't enough.

i understand your points here, and i'm sorry i bothered you so badly about this. I was just curious as to why there was so much dislike. I think both movies are phenomenol. Both have great young actresses/actors. In my opinion, when i think of vampires, i think of them as creatures with twisted faces when they are blood-thirsty.

How does Abby seem threatning towards Owen? I thought there bond was deep, and exactly way Owen needed from somebody.
